It's beautiful! Truth be told my kitten (5 months old) hasn't tried scratching up the couch yet, so I got this as more of a proactive measure than anything else. But even if he never takes an interest in destroying the couch I'll still be glad I got it. The side table feature is very handy, and my boy Nimbus took an immediate shine to sprawling on it next to me while I eat dinner. The wood quality is superb and does not feel cheap at all. You really are getting what you pay for, here.
I did run into some assembly issues with the backboard because the pre-drilled holes didn't line up right with one of the brackets. I sent an email to their customer service at 7 PM pacific time on Bpack Friday, not expecting a response until Monday at the earliest. But they replied back within 10 minutes! I was surprised and impressed by their responsiveness (although I do hope they give their employees plenty of time to spend with their families during the holidays). They sent out a replacement right away with no fuss, and the replacement is working out beautifully. I was hesitant to drop so much on this and I dithered over it for months, but I have no regrets at all. Great product, great people, great job!
Better than expected, but the wood isn't solid wood it's more of a compressed wood. Still very nice looking though. It's heavy and doesn't budge when being scratched, and was very easy to put together. I would recommend but would love to see a more "rustic" style of natural wood in a future product, like in Mau cat towers.
It looks fantastic and my cats immediately started scratching it! Easy to assemble too.
